Our Team

Our certified yoga instructors have a variety of experience with yoga and children.  They adhere to the California Yoga Teachers Association Code of Professional Ethics, and complete a thorough screening process to work with children.   As qualified professionals, they “tune-in” to each participant in their classes and engage and adapt to the needs of the overall group to maximize satisfaction. Students are never forced into any position or to participate in yoga.

image1Lori Hess began to practice yoga in preparation for the arrival of her first daughter in 2006 and felt a deep connection with the strength, flexibility, and sense of calm that yoga provided her.  As a former Special Education teacher and a mom of two girls, she was overjoyed to get back into teaching in a new way.  She feels passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga and helping to lay the foundation for kids to learn about and develop a life-long love of yoga.  Through her playful and upbeat classes, she wants to help kids on their path to become stronger and more flexible in both body and mind, and to be present, grateful, courageous, and compassionate.  Lori was certified through the IYK program in 2015 and continues to learn and grow as she deepens her own practice.  When not practicing/teaching yoga, Lori enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading, cooking, volunteering, and learning to play the guitar.

ElizabethNealElizabeth Neal started taking It’s Yoga Kids classes with her toddler daughter and felt instantly drawn to teach yoga to children.  She wants to share the benefits and calmness that yoga can provide with families in our busy, modern lifestyle.  Since she first moved to San Francisco in the late 90’s, Elizabeth has been an Ashtanga yoga devotee for over 20 years.  She completed the IYK certification, 200-hour YTT with Yoga Tree SF, and B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Washington State University.  She enjoys being in nature and creating crafts through leatherwork, sewing, and painting.  Elizabeth enjoys spending quality time with her family, and practices mindfulness and conscious parenting.

Rebecca Phillips found yoga after numerous running injuries, and after one vinyasa-flow class was hooked. It was a way to quiet the mind and open to love, service and gratitude.  Her personal practice quickly grew and with a history of working with children it became clear there was a way to combine her two passions: yoga and kids. Rebecca received her It’s Yoga Kids training in 2013 and is currently working toward her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training with Janet Stone. Her classes are playful and incorporate breath work, mindfulness, laughter, and movement!

IYK_CaitlinRyanCaitlin Ryan began practicing yoga while studying theatre at the College of Charleston and found a deeper practice upon moving to San Francisco in 2006. Growing up a competitive swimmer and athlete, Caitlin fell in love with not only the physical part of yoga, but with the depth the practice brings to her life and psyche. She completed her 200hr RYT certification through Pete Guinosso’s ‘Lighting the Path’ training program at Yoga Tree in 2014, and completed the IYKC in 2015. She works as a children’s book specialist at Books Inc. and is a devout marine conservationist working with various organizations in the areas of education and outreach. Caitlin’s love for working with children and passion for yoga bring playfulness and lighthearted fun to her classes while teaching mindfulness and the core principles of the yoga philosophy. When she’s not on the mat, Caitlin can be found traveling and seeking out adventures while spreading messages of positivity and our connection to the natural world!

Lindy Sin is a yoga instructor who aims to teach yoga as a life long practice for your mind and body, and a doorway to stay connected with yourself and others by being present.  Since having her twin kids, she became passionate in giving her kids (and all kids) an early opportunity to learn and cultivate this beautiful practice on and off the mat.  Her class offerings (sometimes with the littlest yogis) focus on practicing yoga in community and human connection, offering the instruction in a skill-appropriate, non-judgmental, safe and engaging way.  Lindy has been practicing yoga for over a decade and is a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Garden in San Francisco and IYK as a certified kids yoga instructor, although she considers herself first and foremost, always a student of yoga.
